Who operates Onomori
Onomori is operated by Maximilien Mellen, an individual residing in Japan. Privacy questions and requests may be sent to privacy@onomori.app.
Dictionary use
Onomori sends search terms and selected-entry requests to Wikimedia-operated Wiktionary services. Wikimedia receives the requested term and ordinary network information such as an IP address, user agent, and request metadata under the Wikimedia Privacy Policy. Onomori does not operate a proxy or account backend.
Data on your device
Visited-entry History, Saved terms, cached Wiktionary pages, and language preferences are stored locally on your device. History, Saved, and cache are independent: clearing one does not silently clear the others. Removing the app normally removes its local data, subject to Apple’s device and backup behavior.
Purchases
Apple StoreKit processes purchases and supplies product, offer, transaction-verification, subscription, Family Sharing, expiration, grace-period, and revocation state. Onomori version 1 does not run a receipt server or store a separate entitlement database, and it does not receive Apple Account credentials or payment-card details. Apple handles this information under the Apple Privacy Policy.
Support email
If you email support, Fastmail processes your email address, message, attachments, and technical details you choose to send so Maximilien Mellen can reply and investigate. Support correspondence is retained in the active mailbox for up to 12 months after the last message, then deleted unless it must be kept longer for security, dispute resolution, or a legal obligation. Residual copies may remain temporarily until the provider’s backup cycle expires.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your support correspondence by emailing privacy@onomori.app. We may ask you to verify control of the sending address and may retain information when required by applicable law.
Service providers and international processing
Onomori relies on Apple for app distribution and purchases, Wikimedia for Wiktionary requests, Fastmail for support email, and Cloudflare for DNS, HTTPS, security, and static-site delivery. These organizations may process information in countries other than your own under their respective terms and privacy practices.
Fastmail’s EU data-residency option is selected for the Onomori mailbox. Fastmail states that primary account data is stored in the European Union while resilient replicas and some backups, logs, and diagnostic systems may be in the United States. See Fastmail’s data-residency explanation and Privacy Policy. Cloudflare describes its processing in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
Purposes and choices
Where applicable, information is processed to provide requested app functionality or support, to operate and secure Onomori, to resolve disputes, and to comply with legal obligations. Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, or deletion, or to object to or restrict processing. Submit a request to privacy@onomori.app.
No advertising or tracking
The initial app and this website contain no advertising, third-party analytics, cross-app tracking, tracking pixels, app account, or marketing cookies. The website contains no application JavaScript. Cloudflare may process ordinary request information and use strictly necessary security mechanisms when delivering the site.
